Why Accelerated
Learning is so effective
Accelerated
Learning is a principle of teaching, well proven
for over 50 years. It was developed by
psychologists to see if humans could be more
effective in the way they learned information.
Basically we learn
in different ways: visual, tactile and auditory,
and everyone has a way of learning that suits
them best. By rotating these approaches
throughout the day, we can target each person’s
preferred style – and reinforce information
through the other two.
Traditional format
courses require many months of classes,
self-study and exams, costing companies valuable
employee time and delaying the impact of new
technical skills. However, Accelerated Learning
provides staff with an intensive, hands-on
education in a very short timeframe- away from
the distractions of work and other commitments.
We have created an
innovative, high-quality learning environment
with no distractions so that students can
succeed and have the flexibility to learn 24
hours a day should they wish. Unlike boot camps,
we emphasise skill building and measure what is
learnt through exams.
There are more
advantages than just acquiring skills. For

of being out of date with knowledge and cut out
the need for external consultants.

instruction is highly varied and interactive.
This way, we can keep attention levels high,

students and instructor, and solidify knowledge
through hands-on learning.
Firebrand Training
teaches through all three learning styles
organised throughout the day.
Visual in
the morning when the brain is most receptive,
with a session consisting of slides,
white-boarding and discussion. The
white-boarding builds ‘learning queues’, which
the students can recall later on. The
discussion driven by the instructor helps
reinforce the subject matter.
Tactile
after lunch when people need more stimulation to
overcome the afternoon “lull”. The session is
primarily lab based covering the morning’s
topics or subjects more suited to explanation in
a tactile session.
Auditory in
the evening when a more relaxed atmosphere works
best. Group discussions are led by the
instructor. Students get the chance to explain
things which reinforces their own knowledge and
hear other people’s perspective on the subject.

professionals - ranging from renowned authors to
senior information technology consultants, with
extensive real-world knowledge. They combine
technical expertise with a broad understanding
of how technologies are deployed, used and
managed in business.
No distractions
Our main
residential location is Talbot Hall, a
self-contained and state-of-the-art education
centre, with indoor and outdoor leisure
facilities, set in the beautiful Oxfordshire
countryside. It offers elegance and
tranquillity, perfect for our 'zero-distraction'
and 'total-immersion' philosophy. Other
residential centres are in Kent, Devon, York,
Perthshire and County Dublin.
Students who
attend our courses not only enter their learning
mode more quickly than traditional training
courses but, more importantly, stay in their
learning mode. They aren’t distracted by the
outside world, home life or travelling. The day
typically lasts for 12 hours, but our
instructors and labs are available 24 hours a
day. Students are therefore completely free to
continue immersing themselves in their studies,
if they so wish.
Measuring
success
Traditional
courses rarely include exams and offer no way of
proving that a student has been taught
effectively. At Firebrand Training, students sit
industry-recognised exams as part of the
process. This provides a focus for their
learning and gives a measure to them, their
employer and us as to how well they’re
performing.

Our enrolment consultants can advise on which
course to choose and answer any questions. While
at Firebrand Training, our customer services
staff will help with whatever is needed -
whether it’s a train ticket or a spare
toothbrush.
Our course fees
include everything: accommodation, food, drinks,
snacks, official course materials, exams,
self-test software. In the event that a student
doesn’t pass all their exams during the course,
they can return to the same course as often as
required until they succeed. The only extras
payable are for accommodation and re-test fees,
which are nominal amounts.
